Brainstorming is the first step. We need to talk to the child about the subject and ask him to imagine it in his mind. Then, we have to elicit responses by asking questions like, what caused the accident? How many cars crashed? What color are the cars? What time of the day is it? What other things can he see in the street? Such kind of questions will stimulate the child’s imagination. To respect the child’s privacy, do not impose your own ideas on him.
Children are familiar with the concepts of imagination and sound in painting and they are able to portray horrible sounds such as exploding, breaking and crashing by 2-D paintings.
